Why

Mbuyu

MBUYU IS THE SWAHILI WORD FOR BAOBAB.

The baobab tree Is only found in Africa and

Australia. It is known as the TREE OF LIFE

due to the fact that water can be stored in its

trunk, and every part of the tree has value.

Its leaves have medicinal values and its fruit,

is seen as a super food. It creates great shade

and has strong roots. They can grow to be so

big that houses, shops and even prisons have been built inside of their trunks.

We want our ministry/organisation to be a place where people find shade and shelter from the harshness of this world, where they can find life -physically and spiritually, where they find healing - physically-emotionally & spiritually, and where they can develop deep roots - where they can find a strong and firm foundation for their future - where love takes root.

We felt lead to this from a bible verse found in  Revelation 22:2

"Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God, down the middle of the great street of the city.

On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations".

The verse talks about the tree of life having healing in its leaves and bringing life and healing to the nations

We pray that as people, and as an organisation - that everything we do - brings life and healing to nations - not just Uganda.
